Formula student series team

We are a Student Formula team founded in 2025, consisting of students from LAB University of Applied Sciences (LAB) and Lappeenranta University of Technology (LUT).

Our team’s goal is to design and build a competitive Formula Student car with which we will compete in top-level competitions in the Formula Student series.

We combine academic expertise, innovation, and the power of teamwork, and strive to make Lappeenranta a significant player in the world of motorsport.

What is Formula Student?

Formula Student is an annually organized international student project in which university students build a real race car from scratch themselves and take it to compete against other universities around the world.

Teams design the car, acquire funding, manufacture the parts, test the car, and finally present it to the judges. At the same time, skills needed in working life are learned much more deeply than in a classroom alone.
